As an accountant in Office of the Chief Financial Officer the incumbent will perform a variety of professional accounting work that requires application of accounting theories, concepts, principles, and standards to the financial activities of Western Area Power Administration. Duties are focused on financial reporting and may include preparation of financial statements, regulatory and management reports, financial and variance analysis, account reconciliations, assessment of accounting transactions, processing of journal entries, completion of audit related activities, preparation of procedures and policies.
Transcripts MUST be submitted to verify education / courses in the accounting field, a degree will not suffice and you will be considered ineligible if you do not submit your transcripts.
Basic Requirements for all grades, GS-5 and above
Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that was in an accredited college or university and included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
