As a Reactor Systems Engineer (Fuel Analyst) you will be responsible for: 1) Establishing plans for and conducting code development activities for fuel performance analysis codes to support resolution of NRC safety and technical issues for enhanced accident tolerant fuels and/or advanced reactor designs; 2) Coordinating, planning, developing, performing COR duties, and providing technical direction for NRC’s fuel performance safety research programs to ensure readiness for new fuel designs and related contracts; 3) Communicating and representing the NRC’s interests in international collaborative research programs related to fuel performance and design; 4) Conducting fuel performance confirmatory analyses for operating and new reactor licensing reviews such as for accident tolerant fuel and/or advanced reactor designs; 5) Presenting results of evaluations to senior NRC officials, external stakeholders and peer review and research organizations, related to fuel performance under reactor steady state and transient accident conditions.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's or higher degree in professional engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge of principles, theories, and practices in the field of engineering.
