The William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies (WJPC) is recruiting for an Assistant Research Fellow. The Assistant Research Fellow will conduct research, coordinate activities, and manage databases in support of the WJPC Governance Program faculty.
The William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies (WJPC) is the Department of Defense's premier regional forum offering strategic level defense and security education, research assistance and dialog regarding the development of effective security policy within the Western Hemisphere. The Center's civilian and military graduates and partner institutions comprise communities of influence that work toward a more cooperative and stable international security environment. The Center's substantive offerings are organized within three Academic Programs: Transnational Threats, Human Rights, and Governance.
This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 2 years with the possibility for extension. Conducts field and desk research (data collection, management, and analysis) on defense and security Governance reform cases as well as high-level management models and framework used for sustainably and measurably enhancing effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability of defense security institutions.
Facilitates activities in assistance of the Governance Program Training and other educational activities during planning coordination, and execution phases.
Supports coordination activities necessary for conducting research and outreach.
Assists in the development and management of platforms and products including databases, websites, and other knowledge sharing repositories aimed at organizing, expanding, and sharing information on Security and Defense Governance to international and USG partners and stakeholders.
Background or Security Investigation: This is a Non-Sensitive position which requires a background investigation.
