The Personnel Psychologist position is with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Recruitment and Placement Policy Service (RPPS) located in Washington, D.C. RPPS provides human resources services to support the 169 Human Resources Offices within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
RPPS delivers high-quality employment and organizational assessments services to the agency, provides cutting-edge Human Resources management services with a specific focus on individual, organizational, and outcome assessment. The Personnel Psychologists apply psychological principals and research methods to the workplace in the interest of improving productivity and the quality of the work life environment. The incumbent applies innovative assessment procedures and technologies to develop practical solutions to human resources management hiring and retention problems, and also provides emerging occupational assessment assistance and training to Human Resources Offices, management and employees.
This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-14. At the GS-13 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence.
Major duties and responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary.
Time-in-grade: Applicants who are current, permanent Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 grade level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 showing your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. More than one SF-50 may need to be submitted to prove eligibility. Be aware, a General Pay Adjustment or Award SF-50 will not show when time-in-grade was met.
