As a Lead Investigative Analyst with the DOE Office of Inspector General, Hotline and Analysis Section, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing on-site technical direction and guidance to lower level analysts and investigators in the handling of complaints and conducting of investigations emphasizing contract/grant, environmental, counter proliferation, safety and health fraud, corruption and bribery, theft, technology crimes, whistleblower retaliation, and other alleged criminal and civil violations of law involving Departmental employees, contractors, and grantees. The incumbent ensures the quality and effectiveness of completed assignments prior to submission to the supervisor.
2. Conducting quality assurance reviews of all Hotline documents and processes, to include the proper functioning of all methods of complaint submission, adherence to Office of Investigation (OI) policies related to document handling and complaint processing, and reviewing complaint and investigative files in accordance with OI manual.
3. Maintaining liaison and dialogues with key Departmental and contractor personnel responsible for overseeing Department programs to support investigative and hotline operations. Coordinates outreach and fraud awareness activities and resources.
4. Identifying and completing complex studies to determine where improvements or enhancements to existing practices should be changed. Assists analysts and investigators to identify areas vulnerable or at-risk to fraud, waste, and abuse.

Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period. This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. Failure to pass subsequent tests could result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the Federal service. The selectee must have and maintain a driver’s license in their State of residence.
