These Grant Management Specialist positions are located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Office of Federal Assistance Management (OFAM), Division of Grants Management Operations (DGMO). The duty location for these positions is Rockville, MD.
The Division of Grants Management Operations (DGMO) exercises responsibility within HRSA for all business aspects of grant and cooperative agreement award and post-award processes, and participates in the planning, development and implementation of policies and procedures for grants and other Federal financial assistance mechanisms. Our staff strives to provide oversight over HRSA grant activities to ensure they are managed in an efficient and effective manner.

These are entry-level positions that will provide the successful candidates with formal and on-the-job training in Federal grants management. The ideal candidates will have the ability to review financial documents, perform cost analysis; and evaluate, interpret and apply rules, regulations and policies. In addition, they must be highly motivated, have strong organizational and multi-taking skills as well as excellent oral and communication skills.
Major Duties:
Working as a Grants Management Specialist trainee, you will perform developmental assignments that include formal and informal training designed to teach you to perform the full range of duties for Federal grants and cooperative agreements.

Have completed one full year of graduate level education in a related field;
OR
Have a Bachelor's Degree AND meet the requirements of Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). SAA is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum;

To qualify for a Grants Management Specialist position at the GS-9 level, your resume/CV must demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-7 level performing the following tasks on a regular and recurring basis:
