This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

Major Duties:
- Senior systems analyst in the area of foreign ballistic missile systems and operations.
- Performs as the primary intelligence community expert for high priority weapons system issues within assigned analytic area of responsibility.
- Responsible for providing assessments regarding the characteristics, employment, limitations, and effectiveness of long-range ballistic missile systems.
- Participates, either alone or as a team, representing NASIC in various national-level conferences, working groups, and meetings with other government agencies to explain, interpret or evaluate applicable intelligence data, reports and briefings.
- Responsible for advising and directing a team of contractors to support analytic efforts.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is covered by the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) and, as such, will subject the incumbent to those examinations and/or tests as follows that are necessary to the accesses required by the position in accordance with AFI 36-1101; periodic polygraph examinations consistent with position requirements; and psychological examination, if necessary in the performance of the position. Failure to comply with any of the proceeding, when required, will subject the incumbent of this position to reassignment or disciplinary adverse action, including demotion or removal.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:
1. Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
2. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security and public safety.
3. Position may require temporary duty travel (TDY) utilizing military and/or commercial transportation.
4. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is highly desired
