This position is located within the Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) in Leavenworth, Kansas.
The Incumbent serves as the Supervisory IT Specialist and reports directly to the Area Manager. Incumbent is responsible for supervising employees in the Customer Support section.
The major duties and responsibilities include:
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Duties may require lifting and carrying IT equipment such as monitors and printers.

3.ORAL COMMUNICATION: Communicates, explains or defends complex information technology ideas and information clearly and adapts to the audience's level of knowledge. Thoughts are well organized. Listens to others, and recognizes potential miscommunications.
4.PROBLEM SOLVING: Uses logic to identify alternatives to solve complex or sensitive technological problems; anticipates problems and identifies and evaluates potential sources of information and generates alternatives to solve problems where precedents do not exist.
Specialized Experience:
Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.
To qualify for this position at the GS-13 Level: you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12 level). Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to:
· Expert knowledge of a wide range of computer techniques, requirements, methods, sources
and procedures to perform a variety of assignments;
· Knowledge of technical system design, maintenance, performance analysis and enhancement
techniques sufficient to manage a complex network;

· Knowledge of data management/maintenance principles/services sufficient to evaluate alternative

issues.
You will be rated on the following specialized experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Specialized experience includes: planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and scheduling completion; performing personnel supervisory functions for subordinate employees to include: establishing performance standards, evaluating subordinates performance, administering leave, selecting employees for vacant positions, initiating disciplinary actions; participating in setting and achieving EEO and other personnel management goals and objectives; managing IT and Telecommunication projects of different scope, and complexity; analyzing LAN/WAN and Telecommunication systems malfunctions for major center-wide systems and takes whatever action is required to remedy or effect system recovery.
There is no education substitution for the GS 13 level.
