These positions are located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), located in Rockville, MD.
Student Internship program. These positions are being filled under the Pathways-Internship Program which provides opportunities for high school, vocational and technical, undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to gain work experience while pursuing their education.
Position Duration / Expectation: You will be appointed to a temporary position not-to-exceed 1 year (with the option to be extended for an additional year), OR based on your projected graduation date. Appointment is based on continued needs/funds for the position and your continued compliance in the Pathways Intern Program. This is a developmental program while you complete your education. After successful completion of the program requirements, you may be non-competitively converted to a term position (not to exceed 1-4 years), or a permanent position in the Competitive Service.
Work Schedule: You may a work full-time or part-time schedule. Part-time hours are typically 16-32 hours per week. The work schedule will be established so that it does not interfere with the academic schedule during the school year.

Working as a HRSA Pathways Public Health Student Trainee, your responsibilities include:
· Assisting higher graded analysts in evaluating and managing public health programs.
· Assisting with conducting studies related to the provision of public health assistance or information.
· Participating with interviewing public health stakeholders to obtain information on specific program areas.
· Performing other analytical and assistance activities designed to help you gain the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to progress in this field.

Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

Academic Achievement (SAA) based on: 1.Graduating within the upper third of
the graduating class in a college, university, or major subdivision such as the
College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on
completed courses. OR 2.Having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible
4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of
education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years
of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average
of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in
the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. OR 3.
