In this position, you will serve as an Archives Technician in the Records Retrieval Branch of the National Personnel Records Center's Military Personnel Records facility. You will perform numerous activities involved in the search, refile, and maintenance of personnel and related records.
Tour of Duty: Management has flexibility with schedules. New-hire schedules will be 9:30am-6:00pm and will remain on that schedule for at least six months. After that the work schedule is flexible - 6:00 a.m to 9:30 a.m. starting time.

As an Archives Technician, GS-1421-04, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
The first part of the interview process for this position requires candidates to pass a physical ability test designed to measure the candidate's ability to perform the physical requirements of the job. The test requires carrying 50-pound boxes like those found on the job. It also requires bending, squatting, and walking to reach the boxes, in addition to climbing and balancing on a pulpit ladder up to 14 feet high. The weight capacity of the ladders is rated at 300 pounds.
