The Human Exploitation Rescue Operative (H.E.R.O.) Child-Rescue Corps is seeking candidates for a one-year, non-paid internship at computer forensics labs in more than 50 Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement law enforcement offices throughout the United States.
These internships are reserved for ill, injured, or wounded service members who are either active, separated or retired from all service components.
Before reporting to the field offices, candidates receive 3 weeks of training with the National Association to Protect Children regarding the issues surrounding child exploitation and an additional 8 weeks of highly technical computer forensic training all in an effort to provide candidates with the tools necessary to assist federal agents in the fight against online child sexual exploitation.

As a H.E.R.O. Child-Rescue Corps Volunteer, training will involve both familiarization with child protective techniques and law, as well as utilization of computer forensic tools to combat child abuse such as:
There are no minimum education requirements necessary to participate in this internship. A+ computer certification is preferred but not required.
11 week Training Course: Training begins on April 9, 2018 in Orlando, Florida and concludes on June 22, 2018 in Fairfax, Virginia. Attendance is required and not optional.
