Duties as a Attorney-Advisor include but are not limited to the following:
1) Provides legal advice, counsel, and representation in litigation regarding OIG employment, discrimination and ethics law. 2) Reviews and provides comment on OIG employment, discrimination and ethics law products. 3) Researches and analyzes criminal and administrative laws, policies, procedures and practices. 4) Establishes and maintains effective liaison and coordination with OIG staff. 5) Reviews, analyzes and comments on proposed legislation. 6.) Prepares memoranda and briefings.
Position has been designated as Top Secret/ Critical Sensitive; incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Critical Sensitive Security Clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Requires 10% of temporary duty travel (TDY).

Basic Qualifications Requirements: To meet the basic qualifications, you must meet all of the following:
1. Posses a J.D., LL.B., or LL.M. degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Be an active member, in good standing, of the bar of the highest court of a state, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia, and be permitted to engage in the active practice of law.
Specialized Experience Requirements: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience serving as Advisor of legal matters and as a representative in litigation concerning human resources management and related areas and in Federal Ethics Law; experience providing guidance and servicing on matters pending before the U.S. Merit System Protection Board (MSPB), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Office of Special Counsel (OSC), Federal courts, and other fora. Applicants should also experience providing legal advice and counsel regarding matters of general law.
