This position is located within the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Administrative Investigations (DIG-AI), Hotline Division. The Hotline Division is responsible for receiving information pertaining to suspected threats to homeland security, leaks of classified information, and overseeing inquiries into allegations of fraud, waste and mismanagement affecting DoD programs and operations at the local, national and international levels. The incumbent independently conducts sensitive, complex investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement or misconduct involving DoD officials, and other special assignments, as directed.

As an Investigator (Hotline) your duties will include but are not limited to:
1) Independently conducting sensitive, complex investigations in to allegation involving DoD officials and special assignments, as directed.
2) Processing Classified hotline complaints relating to intelligence matters using systems that disseminate and store Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
3) Ensuring complaint information is properly coded and entered into the hotline database.
4) Reviewing hotline reports and findings of investigations to ensure progress is being made in accordance with established guidelines and recommending further action, if necessary.
5) Conducting oversight reviews of inquiries conducted by Inspectors General of the Military Departments and Defense Agencies.
6) Maintaining contact with DoD OIG staff offices and designated officials.
7) As necessary, briefing DoD OIG management, other senior DoD officials, Members of Congress and their staff on the status and results of investigations, oversight reviews, and special projects.
Requirements:
Position has been designated as Special Sensitive; the individual(s) selected is(are) required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
