Oversees the accomplishment of work, staffing of operations, safety of users, and evaluates pool operation efficiencies. Directs lifeguards in the performance of their duties, performs checks on and adjusts water quality levels, and insures that pump rooms are maintained and operational. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Coordinates and conducts aquatic swimming and water survival training. Maintains daily logs and records as required, and carries out work in accordance with policies, regulations, directives, and requirements. Responsible for the safeguarding and protection of funds, property and personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.
2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
3. A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-VERIFY) check.
5. All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI.
6. A pre-employment physical is required for this position.
7. Incumbent must be available to work a variable schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
8. Within 6 months of hire, candidate must obtain a pool operator's license.

1. Incumbent must possess and maintain the following certifications:
Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS);
American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional;
CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED);
First Aid.
2. Must have 12 months of experience in pool operation as a
lifeguard with experience in swimming instruction and pool maintenance.
3. Must be able to use sound judgment, accomplish tasks
within established timeframes, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and
grammatically correct manner.
4. Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.
Best Qualified: Lifeguard Instructor Certificate, to include American Red Cross Certificate and First Aid Instructor.
