WHO MAY APPLY: All qualified Missouri traditional guard members and those eligible for enlistment, appointment or transfer into the Missouri Air National Guard.
Represents the Airfield Systems Flight at Operations Support Squadron, Airfield Operations Board, and other appropriate forums or meetings.
Develops and publishes organizational level operating instructions as appropriate to assign responsibilities and delineate requirements for equipment operation, accountability, and maintenance.
Manages manpower, budget, logistic support, administrative, training, and vehicle resources related to the Airfield Systems Flight.
Supports and ensures the Airfield Systems Flight adheres to and efficiency complies with the ANG Communications Standardization and Evaluation Program (CSEP) and other relevant USAF and ANG guidance.
Manages and directs administrative and documentation issues related to the Airfield Systems Flight.
Ensures all Integrated Maintenance Documentation System (IMDS) or equivalent maintenance documentation system, requirements are met.
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment for assigned personnel in accordance with all applicable safety standards and directives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Directs the work of the Airfield Systems Flight and is accountable to the commander for the success in supporting the unit mission.
Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the maintenance effort and is solely responsible to the commander for accomplishing the air traffic control Airfield Systems mission.
Follows published maintenance management guidance for managing safe and reliable ATCALS by implementation of the policies and procedures contained in USAF, FAA and ANG guiding directives.
Establishes close working relationships with base support activities and makes periodic visits to supporting activities such as the Base Communications Squadron, Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory, Supply, and base Civil Engineering.
Develops goals and objectives that integrate with organization and flying mission objectives.
Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate Airfield Systems Flight personnel.
Ensures civilian personnel are managed according to applicable guidance and directives.
Ensures personnel are fully trained in all aspects of job-related safety, equipment safety, personal safety and security directives.
Interfaces with and provides expert technical advice and guidance to commanders, higher headquarters, system engineers and associated government agencies on complex ATCALS equipment maintenance and support issues.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

Creditable Service for Annual Leave accrual may be granted to new employees if he/she possesses superior qualifications essential to the position; and which were acquired through performance in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position.
The duties performed in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position must directly relate to the position to which appointed and such qualifications are necessary to achieve an important agency mission or performance goal to be eligible.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
Maximum Military Grade - CMSgt (E-9)
Minimum Military Grade - MSgt (E-7)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training performing simple mechanical installations and adjustments; experience which demonstrates your ability to recognize obvious malfunctions; use common hand tools; and follow written instructions.
GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Mustpossess at least one year of specialized experience, education or training equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or equivalent that demonstrates experience, education, or training utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment; experience diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems; experience making mechanical repairs that require use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment; experience using complex test equipment; and experience demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications. This specialized experience must also include experience in managing the function of the work to be performed and experience leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Must currently possess or able to maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
