You will be responsible for planning administering environmental program at the shipyard.
You will oversee the strategic planning, development, and implementation of the environmental protection plans/directives required for compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
You will lead the Facility Response Team (FRT) providing direction and guidance to the cross section of shipyard personnel.
You will serve as the contracting office’s technical representative in the execution of contracts.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying knowledge of environmental protection programs, concepts and principles as they apply to oil and hazardous substance spill response.
Experience acting as a liaison between state and federal regulatory agencies, and an organization on operational and technical matters pertaining to oil and hazardous substance spill response and planning.
Experience applying knowledge of the operations of a spill response team.
Experience managing the handling, storage, and shipment of hazardous material.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
