Summary

You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist (KMI Spectrum Manager) in the Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Department.

The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Duties

Help
  • You will provide supervision, management, support, planning, briefing, and training in key management infrastructure related issues for the Commanding General MCIWEST in support of all MCIWEST installations and resident commands.
  • You will provide Marine Corps Installation level KMI policy, guidance, and procedures for the effective and efficient management of the regional KMI plan.
  • You will ensure effective and efficient KMI is considered at all levels of operational planning and provide communications security SME input
  • You will provide local KMI, planning, policy, prioritization, and resourcing for MCIWEST and regionally supported commands.
  • You will validate, coordinate, and submit all required documents for managing a KMI program for MCIWEST and installations in accordance with current industry policies and directives.
  • You will provide technical training and advice to MCIWEST installations in the proper handling and accounting for COMSEC items.

  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Overseeing and resolving technical communication issues related to facility preparation, as well as the procurement and installation of INFOSEC/COMSEC equipment; 2) Selecting, acquiring, storing, and distributing organizational resources-including materials, equipment, financial assets, inventory, human expertise, production tools, and information technology; 3) Supporting the implementation of measures and controls to prevent unauthorized electronic, logical, and physical access to information from electronic communications, while ensuring the authenticity of those communications; 4) Developing local policies and implementing instructions, while providing interpretations and guidance to management officials and other telecommunications specialists.;5) Resolving issues involving conflicting telecommunications requirements and recommending changes for improvement; and 6) Collaborating with internal and external telecommunications partners to anticipate needs and resolve interference issues.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
