Specialized and Other Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing Cybersecurity Compliancy analyst work for all aspects of security matters in administering a security program. 2) Implementing the Information Assurance Program which consists of development of Installation Assurance Systems (IAS) information processing standards to be used at the installation. 3) Assisting with implementing computer systems security for a large complex of computer servers and the IAS program for all AIS on the installation. 4) Securing personal computers (PCs), local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks. 5) Assisting with monitoring systems and network security, information systems security (INFOSEC) training standards, communications risk analysis, security profiles, network audits, secure network servers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virus protection, domain name system (DNS) security, backbone security, modem dial up standards, and information assurance vulnerability assessments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
t. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Position may be filled as a TEMPORARY Promotion NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee.
TEMPORARY Promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a TEMPORARY Appointment NTE 1 year if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee.
TEMPORARY Appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
