Open only to onboard T5 National Guard employee or T32 Technician of the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
(1) Supervises subordinates in performing clerical supply and warehousing work. Plans, assigns, directs and reviews work of subordinates. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures and gives special instructions on difficult or different operations. Prepares formal requests for filling vacancies, recommendations for promotions, reassignments or other status changes. Selects or contributes with considerable weight to the selection of subordinates. Approves work performance, formulates training plans for subordinates and recommends training courses. Informs subordinates on aspects of personnel management, equal employment opportunity, position classification and position management.
(2) Plans, organizes and directs the Class IX operation of the brigade to include inventory management, storage management, equipment coordination and supply management. Is accountable for Class IX items in the brigade. Manages an automated property account, utilizing Authorized Stockage List (ASL) stock record procedures. Responsible for the operation of the command Direct Exchange (DX) activity and Quick Supply Store (QSS) which are included in the Class IX operation.
(3) Reviews, analyzes and interprets supply directives and procedural instructions from higher headquarters. Formulates and distributes operating procedures to units and maintenance activities
of the command to insure adequate support and logistical readiness of units.
(4) Prepares budge estimates for the support of Class IX items and coordinates brigade requirements with the Supply Officer and the Logistics Division of the USPFO. Determines the effects of new equipment or programs on funding requirements and prepares justification for budget revisions.
(5) Ensures control of input to and output from the data center concerning Class IX transactions. Controls the automated processes to the extent of establishing and modifying master and
subsidiary processes and directing the execution of desired processes. Coordinates the processing of repair parts documents with the data center.
(6) Provides Class IX technical assistance and advice to higher headquarters and units and maintenance activities of the command. Maintains liaison with Commanders, Supply Officers, USPFO Supply Management Officers, Brigade Property Book Officers, Maintenance Officers and Army supply depots concerning Class IX support for the command.
(7) Reviews and analyzes automated listings and reports. Initiates action to eliminate/improve undesirable trends, resolves problems on error listings and provides advice and guidance to
subordinates. Reviews and approves stock adjustment documents. Maintains a current analysis of trends for improvements in the efficiency of operations.
(8) Reviews regulations and directives concerning storage management and warehousing. Formulates and issues operating procedures for Class IX warehouse and stock control operations.
Provides guidance in the planning and coordination of the storage of stacked items. Analyzes and plans the area on the basis of handling problems, exits, stock turnover, physical characteristics of the area and safety conditions. Develops warehouse locator system and plans detailed layouts of the storage areas. Supervises the inventory of all items.
(9) Ensures that safety and fire precaution procedures are observed and followed and the warehouse is clean and orderly. Ensures that necessary security measures are enforced when handling and storing supplies and equipment. Ensures that the overall warehousing
plan is followed.
(10) Implements regulatory safety and health requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
(11) Instructs ARNG unit supply personnel in Class IX supply policies and procedures. May represent the Commander at meetings and conferences relative to the Class IX program.
(12) Reviews unit PLLs to assure that items authorized are included in the ASL. Provides PLLs to units of command by utilizing the mechanized supply system and Class IX storage facility.
(13) Performs other duties as assigned.
