The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Scholarships for Service (SFS) Program is a paid internship in the Division of Risk Management Supervision. Selected candidates must be available for a 10-week full-time internship beginning in May/June 2025. Information Technology Examination Interns (ITEIs) will be assigned to the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS). ITEIs will work directly on teams alongside experienced FDIC employees to evaluate bank operations, business planning, and risk management strategies. These teams are responsible for assessing financial institutions to determine whether they are following safe and sound banking practices, maintaining effective internal controls and procedures, managing their institutions effectively, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
ITEIs will be provided with dynamic learning opportunities while supporting examinations that evaluate the cybersecurity risks and controls environment in banks.
Applicants must be a current CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service (SFS) Program participant.
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The starting base salary for candidates selected under this announcement is set at $44,833 for candidates selected at the CG-4 grade level and $50,400 for candidates selected at the CG-5 level, plus the locality rates for their assigned locations.

SFS Interns may elect to receive a one-time $2,500 stipend (in addition to bi-weekly salary) while in the program. Certain stipulations apply. Interns are responsible for providing their own housing.

Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
