The Chief Data Office is looking for an IT Specialist (BI Analyst/Product Owner) to join the Tools & Technology Branch (ADO-220). This branch is responsible for product ownership of the suite of business intelligence tools available to the FAA workforce via its Enterprise Information Management (EIM) data platform. As a Business Intelligence Analyst/Product Owner, you will combine your experience preparing data and creating business intelligence visualizations with a real passion for enabling data users. You will lead adoption of the Alteryx and Tableau product roadmaps by FAA users, facilitate the sharing of best practices and lessons learned, master new product features, and troubleshoot software performance via server logs and monitoring tools. In this role, you will assist users in data transformations and visualizations in support of aviation safety and efficiency and other critical mission objectives.

Necessary experience includes use of Alteryx and Tableau in a production environment. The successful candidate will also have experience troubleshooting software performance by monitoring server activity. We are looking for a candidate with this experience and a demonstrated passion for technology with an eagerness to master and teach new features as they are introduced.

If selected, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Serving as a product owner for Tableau and Alteryx within the FAA
  • Assisting lines of business/staff offices with implementing best practices and leveraging enterprise data assets by utilizing Alteryx and Tableau
  • Maintaining performance and availability of Tableau and Alteryx via server logs and monitoring tools
  • Leading the successful adoption of the Alteryx and Tableau roadmaps, including leading user group forums and connecting with key business stakeholders

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is: Experience utilizing Tableau product suite (e.g. Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep and Tableau Server) and Alteryx product suite (Alteryx Designer and Designer Cloud, and Alteryx Server) as well as experience troubleshooting server performance.

Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
