As an Auditor / Program Analyst for the EAC OIG, you will work under the direction of senior OIG employees to conduct and/or coordinate independent and objective audits of EAC programs and operations.
The Auditor / Program Analyst is supervised by the Assistant Inspector General for Audit (AIG/A) who reports to the Inspector General (IG) of EAC.

The Auditor / Program Analyst is responsible for performing auditing activities relating to EAC programs and operations. To fulfill that responsibility, the Auditor / Program Analyst leads or participates as a team member conducting performance audits and other related projects. Specific tasks would include assisting with the design of audit programs, participating in entrance and exit conferences with management-level staff, leading audit interviews, developing audit work papers, and reviewing and analyzing audit data. In addition, the Auditor / Program Analyst develops recommendations for improvements to management operations and policies, drafts reports about conditions disclosed by audits and other assignments, and tracks and reports on the status of management's progress toward corrective actions.

Degree: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in auditing or a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. A complete transcript showing relevant coursework and degrees must be submitted with your application package.

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in performance auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) was established by the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). The agency is charged with developing guidance to meet HAVA requirements, adopting voluntary voting system guidelines, accrediting testing laboratories, certifying voting systems, maintaining the national mail voter registration form, distributing HAVA grants to the 50 U.S. states and territories, and serving as a national clearinghouse of information about election administration.
The position is in the EAC Office of Inspector General (OIG). The OIG was also established by HAVA and charged with the responsibility of auditing the use of HAVA grant funding by the 50 U.S. states and territories. As an independent division of the EAC, the OIG reports directly to the agency commissioners and to Congress. Additionally, under the authority of the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, the OIG is responsible for conducting audits, inspections, and evaluations of the EAC and its programs. The mission of the EAC OIG is to enhance economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of EAC's operations and to prevent, fraud, waste, and abuse.
