As an Interdisciplinary- Supervisory Statistician (Economics)/Economist at the GS-0110/1530-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzes, reviews, and presents to the Service Compensation representatives, orally and in writing, the final recommendation of the Division on any matter developed therein ranging from routine station and housing allowance adjustments to implementation of major new programs and/or procedures.
Provides support to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Manpower & Reserve Affairs), Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy, and the Director, Military Compensation Policy in policy formulation, implementation, and evaluation pertaining to station and housing allowance issues.
Provides assessments of past, current, and projected station and housing allowance issues to develop new and innovative analytic methods to evaluate current issues; to evaluate management and program effectiveness and provide more effective alternatives; and to clearly and concisely articulate the results of these assessments.
Provides oversight and guidance on policy development, recommends changes to station and housing allowance statutes, policy, programs and procedures with regard to all items pertaining to the DoD FMR Chapters 26, 67, and 68, and other written material impacting station and housing allowances; and legislation impacting the allowance portfolio.
Formulates methods and procedures to accomplish and makes recommendations for the initiation of, studies and surveys relating to the adequacy of existing allowances, methodology of developing allowances or the desirability of new allowances.
Formulates methods and procedures for the conduct of surveys, and review and analysis of data.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
