Serves as the HQ IMCOM G9 CYS Health Consultant with responsibility for the implementation of health regulatory guidance, support services, and special needs issues in Army CYS Programs world-wide, to include: Child Development Centers; Family Child Care Homes; School Age Centers; Youth Centers; Sports and Fitness; School Support Services; and Parent and Outreach programs. Advises the IMCOM HQ G9 CYS Division Chief on high risk medical issues, communicable diseases, and special needs inclusion and accommodation. Coordinates with higher-level proponents to recommend and implement health and medical-related policies, standards, and regulations which impact CYS programs Army-wide. Works closely with the Army Public Health Center (APHC), Garrison Army Public Health Nurses, and CYS health consultants to mitigate outbreaks of communicable disease and to ensure CYS programs follow proper protocol in accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. Works closely with APHC and Department of Army to ensure training is in place for CYS Garrison staff, providers, volunteers, and parents on health-related topics for child and youth programs. Coordinates, develops, and/or conducts specialized training for staff responsible for providing services to participants with more complex medical requirements. Responsible for coordinating placement of contract nurses at garrisons requiring complex medical support.
