This position is located in The Adjutant General's (TAG) Special Staff within Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ)-Wyoming Military Department. This position serves as the Director of the Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Program. Responsible for the overall management, guidance, development, implementation and maintenance for the primary prevention of harm and other prohibited abuse and harmful acts. The Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Director creates the homogenous link between stand-alone programs. Develops command guidance to implement an IPP program to improve personal resilience, connectedness, and well-being and enhance work/life balance for Service members and families.
Serves as TAG advisor on National Guard Primary Prevention efforts throughout the state. Provides advice on National and State, military and family member's well-being programs and initiatives. Incumbent is required to research, analyze, develop, train, lead, supervise subordinates and execute the National Guard Primary Prevention policies, plans and procedures for both Army and Air.
The Primary Prevention Program is State-wide providing advisory, consultation and guidance to high level command issues pertaining to human services matters and programs benefiting families, military, and technicians. Develop policies, articulate program strategies, focus and initiatives, implement program, and provide good steward inspections, policy review, identify best business practices, engage outside stakeholders such as local non-governmental agency to develop sound long lasting resolutions; including methods used to establish program objectives.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND NOTES:
Open to Army Nat'l Guard, US Army Reserves, and US Army military mbrs only.
Must be assessed into WY ARNG before appt. May take up to 120 days.
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, if eligible. Subject to funding and TAG approval.
PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).

1. Must meet DoD credentialing requirements within one year of hire and maintain credentialing as a condition of employment.
2. At a minimum each Prevention Workforce member will attend the DoD SPARX training which consists of 60 hours of prevention specific training.
3. In addition to DoD SPARX training, the JFHQ Prevention Program Manager must complete an additional 30 hours of continuing education annually to maintain credentialing requirements.
4. Will report to Director, Joint Staff (O-7/BG).
5. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
6. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
7. May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
8. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1: All permanent or indefinite Wyoming Army National Guard (WY ARNG) T32 Dual Status Technicians (DST) assigned to the Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ) Manning Document.
Area 2: All permanent or indefinite WY ARNG T32 DST employed within another unit of the WY ARNG.
Area 4: All current M-day Soldiers of the Wyoming Army National Guard.
Area 6: Current military members of other states' Army National Guard units, US Army Reserves, or US Army. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Army National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.
MILITARY GRADE
Min: O-5/LTC (May be promoted to O-6 based on M-Day assignment)
Max: O-6/COL (Must be a current WY ARNG T32 Dual Status Technician in an O-6 billet)
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Include legible copy of transcripts with application showing degree type and award date.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. Include legible copy of transcripts with application.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Applicants may meet minimum qualification requirements through experience equivalent to a 4-year degree.
EXPERIENCE:
To qualify based on experience, you must possess at least 1 year equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-12) with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position in the public or private sector. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES (KSAs):
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
