This position is located at the FMS1 in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and/or overhaul of a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
Military Grades: PFC/E3 - SFC/E7
Compatible Military Assignments: Possess the MOS of 88M, or 91, 92, or 94 MOS Series
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
WG-08: Must have at least 12 months experience or training using common hand and power tools and a small variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories. Experience which demonstrates a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience demonstrating an understanding of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
WG-10: Must have at least 18 months experience or training diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. Experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of interconnected systems such as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
2. Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls.
3. Ability to use judgment in planning work sequences for assigned tasks or work orders, selecting tools and repair parts, and otherwise carrying assignments through to completion, referring only to unusual and difficult problems to the wage leader or supervisor.
4. Ability to conduct readiness and operational inspections, and perform preventive maintenance repairs and services on vehicles and associated equipment in the Arizona Army National Guard inventory.
5. Ability to utilize, interpret and perform work in accordance with technical manuals, manufacturer's repair manuals, modification work orders, lubrication orders, maintenance bulletins, diagnostic computer information, and schematics.
6. Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, to include skills in using computers and office productivity software to organize and convey information relevant to maintenance operations. Knowledge of GCSS-Army and its role in maintenance operations.
7. Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical systems, sufficient to identify open and short circuits, and troubleshoot and replace defective components, such as sensors, relays , and diodes.
8. Ability to troubleshoot and repair combat, tactical, heavy construction, commercial, special purpose vehicles and equipment.
