Basic Requirements:
The education must be accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Selective Placement Factor: Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for a position. Applicants who do not meet it are ineligible for further consideration. Evidence of the Selective Placement Factor must be reflected in your resume. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: experience maintaining inventories for and contributing to reports for Hazardous Chemical Management of a natural science research center or laboratory.
In addition to the Basic Requirements and Selective Placement Factor for this position, your resume must also meet one of the following specialized experiences:
GS-09 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position Specialized experience is defined as serving a natural science research center/laboratory to coordinate safe and compliant hazardous chemical waste management according to hazardous waste management plans and national and state chemical safety regulations, and support personnel safety. Here, natural science research refers to active scientific research in fields related to biology, ecology, chemistry, geology, and Earth science.

2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree or LL. B or J.D. if related.
GS-11 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system.
