Help

Serves as the Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Network Services/Systems Analysis) for the Plans and Architectures Branch, ACoS G-6, National Training Center (NTC), US Forces Command (FORSCOM), Fort Irwin, CA.
Identifies, tests, and evaluates current and new communications systems deploying to or already in use at NTC, in order to protect the integrity of the infrastructure utilized by NTC.
Develops, documents, reviews, approves, implements, and maintains CyCom and FON policies, processes, and procedures, including procedures for materiel fielding for developmental and operational systems.
Designs or conducts analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, or other research and evaluates, monitors, or ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures.
Informs Contractors of failures to comply with the technical requirements of applicable contracts, and informs applicable KOs of any failures, and of any approved corrective actions implemented (or failures to implement) by applicable Contractors.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Required to undergo urinalysis testing at the discretion of the commander or supervisor, and sign a ?Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
Satisfactorily complete the appropriate training, obtain (within 180 days of appointment to the position).
Perform duties of an Information Technology Level I (IT-I) in accordance with Army Regulation 25-2, Rapid Action Revision Issue Date: 23 March 2009.
Must possess a valid U.S. State Driver?s license to operate a vehicle up to 26,000 pounds GVWR (such as a California noncommercial class C driver?s license).
Must possess or obtain (within 180 days of appointment), and maintain a valid, U.S. Military Tactical Vehicle license to operate a high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV).
Position may require temporary duty travel up to 10%.
May require work on US Federal Holidays, weekends, or overtime / callback.
This position is essential to cyber protection and safety-of-life communications. In the event of partial or total Government furlough, natural disaster, or similar event incumbent may be required to report to duty to fulfill assigned duties.
Due to the requirements for access to critical sensitive information, this position is not telework eligible.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes: performing, or leading other network technicians in, identification, diagnostics, or resolution of complex network related issues. Provide technical advice for program requirements and resources related to Fiber Optic Networks (FON). Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, knows about available products and services. I am committed to providing quality products and services. Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information. Uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Analysis and evaluation of Information Technological infrastructure throughout the National Training Center that provides capabilities to the Training Range and Rotational Training capabilities.
