To Qualify for the GS-11:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-9) is defined as experience applying materials and process standards and policy to materials and process control for projects; experience with composites, specifically polymer matrix composites, or metallic alloys for aerospace; and experience in applying principles, concepts, standards, and methods in the development of Materials and Processes for aerospace flight hardware.
You have completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field.
You have completed 3 full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field.
You have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate education.
To Qualify for the GS-12:
One year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) is defined as experience applying materials and process standards and policy to materials and process control for projects; experience with composites, specifically polymer matrix composites, or metallic alloys for aerospace; experience in applying expertise in principles, concepts, standards, and methods in the development of Materials and Processes for aerospace flight hardware; experience with modification of standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and well known techniques to resolve a wide variety of complications and constraints contained in traditional projects.
To Qualify for the GS-13:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) is defined as experience with applying materials and process standards and policy for advising colleagues and senior officials, and management of materials and process control for projects; experience with composites, specifically polymer matrix composites, or metallic alloys for aerospace; experience in applying expertise in advanced principles, concepts, standards, and methods in the development of Materials and Processes for aerospace flight hardware; experience with modification of standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and well known techniques to resolve a wide variety of complications and constraints contained in traditional projects.
