As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee's duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law. If selected, you will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit documentation of proof of vaccination by November 22, 2021 or before appointment or onboarding with the agency, if after November 22. Basic Requirements for Performance Auditors
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
- 1. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
- 2. A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or

In order to qualify for the GS-13
grade level applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-12 Performance Auditor position in the Federal service directly related to auditing, program evaluation, or assessment which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.. Examples may include planning and conducting complex performance audits that comply with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards, planning and conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, leading teams, briefing management on results of work, preparing complex written reports that include recommendations.
**Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.**
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
