As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Administrator, you will perform the following duties:
• Manage several research branches and laboratories, focusing on ecosystem impacts affecting living marine resources including physical, chemical, and biological interactions, zooplankton and ichthyoplankton, estuarine and marine habitats, shellfish and finfish aquaculture, ecophysiology, and anthropogenic impacts.
• Develop short and long-range plans for aquaculture, climate, and habitat research programs to include strategic program planning/budget planning and the development of the scientific information required to support those needs.
• Formulate and execute recommendations on policy and program determinations for coordinated efforts within the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) and the Greater Atlantic Regional Fishery Office (GARFO) on environmental impacts of aquaculture practices and siting.
• Oversee development of policy changes in response to changes in levels of appropriations or other legislated changes and manage organizational changes to ensure responsive policies, programs, and products for internal and external stakeholders and partners.
• Perform a wide array of supervisory duties including professional development, performance reviews, hiring and training.

EDUCATION:
To qualify for the 0480 series:
A. Degree: Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of experience that demonstrated that the applicant acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4- year course of study as described in A above.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the ZP-5 or GS-15 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting one of the Basic Requirements above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-4 or GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
