The primary purpose of this position is to assist, facilitate, and enhance the performance of a full range of HR support functions.
The incumbent will also perform the following duties:
Provides support to recruitment and placement specialists.
Conducts recruitment/examining activities for common and/or lower-grade positions with supervisory guidance.
Generates job announcements, reviews applicant qualifications and generates referral lists for a variety of positions.
Completes technical forms and produces correspondence, memoranda, directives, forms and reports. Creates and maintains spreadsheets.
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of information, spelling, grammar construction, punctuation and presence of necessary enclosures.
Reviews and reconciles personnel files and codes and corrects discrepancies between HR System and other sources of data.
Uses systems and software to produce a variety of SI/OHR documents

Experience:
To qualify for IS-05: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS/IS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes 1) assisting to provide administrative service to support human resources operations of an organization and 2) utilizing automated databases to process, retrieve, and send information and to respond to customers.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a bachelor's degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university.
OR
A combination of education and experience equivalent to that described above.
To qualify for IS-06: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS/IS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes 1) providing administrative service to support human resources operations of an organization and 2) utilizing Human Resources system(s) databases to process personal action, retrieve information, and sends requests and responses to applicants and customers.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
