This position is for the Endocrinology Section Chief located within Medicine Service Line at Edward Hines Jr. VA Medical Center.
The Endocrine Section Chief oversees the day to day clinical operations of the Endocrinology Section. The Section Chief of Endocrine will direct the patient care within the division, ensure appropriate coverage for patients, and provide specific guidelines for physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner performance expectations. This position involves overseeing the administrative functions of the section, overseeing the residency/fellowship program, evaluating and implementing new technologies as related to Endocrine and overseeing the quality improvement program. He/she will monitor staff and ensure all paperwork, education, and that training for providers is being met and oversee future recruitment. This position will need to maintain good relationships with Nursing and other services necessary for the smooth functioning of the Endocrine Section. The Section Chief plays an integral role with identifying and addressing any deficiencies or areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions or procedures to address.
