DUTY STATION STATEMENT: Relocation expenses paid for promotion-eligible NCUA employee to relocate to a duty station within commuting distance of a major airport within the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas.
As a Director of Special Actions, you will perform the following duties:
- Negotiate with officials of problem credit unions and state supervisory authorities to implement effective corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential losses.
- Recommend and direct necessary administrative action such as cease and desist, involuntary liquidations, assisted mergers, removal of credit union management, etc. for assigned cases.
- Recommend transfer of credit unions managed under Special Actions to specific Supervisory Examiner Groups with justification noting improvement of the specific case.
- Review and recommend credit unions for consideration transfer into Special Actions noting specific risks requiring more thorough specialist review, or other major deteriorating operational/financial conditions.
- Implement any needed conservatorship activity for assigned cases and supervise management and operation of credit unions while under conservatorship.
- Coordinate with the Office of Examination and Insurance to provide national training and capital markets, lending, problem resolution, and information system issues.
- Contribute to the formulation of NCUA's policy by serving as an advisor and consultant to the Regional Director on matters pertaining to special actions including capital markets and specialized lending.
- Represent the Regional Director before groups on subjects related to area of expertise.
Education is not required for this position nor may it be used to qualify.
SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's National Pay Rate (NPR) which includes a locality rate of 16.32% for the Rest of the U.S. (RUS) Actual salary will be determined upon the location of selectee and the applicable locality pay, per the NCUA's CU pay table. The 2021 locality rates, by location, can be found on the NCUA Careers webpage under the NCUA CU Pay Structure.
EXCEPTION: If you are a current non-supervisory NCUA employee and are selected for reassignment into a supervisory position, you may receive up to a 10% salary increase, not to exceed the National Pay Rate (NPR) of the pay grade. Management will consider your current salary in relation to the duties and responsibilities of the new position.
Pay Setting for Director of Special Actions (DSA) vacancy announcements: Salary will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. EXCEPTION: If a current Supervisory Examiner (SE) CU-15 employee is selected for reassignment into a DSA position, the selectee may be eligible to receive up to a 9% salary adjustment not to exceed the maximum NPR of the CU-15 pay band.
