    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst. Typical assignments include: 

    • Overseeing the development of preparedness assessments within the national preparedness goal core capabilities. 
    • Developing strategies for preparedness investments that close capability gaps and reduce risk.
    • Leading FEMA’s risk and capability assessment methodologies through the Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment/Stakeholder Preparedness Review.
    • Providing advice and recommendations to senior executives on programmatic policy and execution as it relates to national preparedness assessments.
    • Assigning and evaluating work through subordinate managers and supervisors, providing for staff development, training, and support services, selecting or recommending selection of staff, conducting performance appraisals, and carrying out the Agency’s personnel management and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program goals and objectives.
