    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as an Logistics Management Specialist with FEMA's Regional Offices, Region Two, FEMA Integration Team (FIT). Typical assignments include but not limited to:

    • Planning and coordinating the specific requirements for financial obligations, manpower, materials, facilities, and services needed to support designated programs.  
    • Developing and finalizing plans to meet operational and functional requirements necessary to satisfy the mission within the specified timelines.  
    • Researching and evaluating automated data and other records, and extracts or develops information and reports. 
    • Coordinating logistical procedures with agency officials, customers, internal personnel, and external stakeholders to ensure cooperation and program support.  

    Additional duties include:

    • Executing program activities providing Incident Support Base (ISB) and Federal Staging Area (FSA) sites, transportation contract support, equipment and training in support of staging, and providing FEMA resources in disaster locations. 
    • Ensuring logistics management activities are provided immediate housing and services in disaster locations, Responder Support Camp (RSC). 
    • Forecasting logistic support requirements for field office (JFO, IOF, PA) activities. 

    Promotion Potential: Positions filled under Stafford Act regulations generally do not have documented promotion potential; however, dependent on an employee’s ability to perform higher level duties, the continuing need for an employee to perform work associated with a higher level position, and administrative recommendation and approval, promotions may be earned by CORE employees.
