    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as a senior IT Program Manager with a high degree of experience in the design, development, assignment, and governance of IT systems to ensure programs are fully integrated and coordinated as sound, technically compliant and secure investments that provide efficient, effective, and timely value for the USFA Systems (NETC Admissions System and NFA Online (Learning Management System).

    Typical assignments include: 

    • Providing briefings and updates to senior managers and supervisors concerning recommendations, progress, and follow-on actions.
    • Developing new insights into situations; questioning conventional approaches; encouraging new ideas and innovations; designing and implementing new or cutting-edge programs/processes.
    • Serving as an alternate Contracting Officer’s Representative on contracted development efforts to the senior IT Specialist. Assisting other senior IT Specialists by providing technical, administrative, and project oversight of assigned projects and is responsible for monitoring the development of software applications systems, and IT services.
    • Coordinating with developers, Information System Security Officers, and customers on procedures for maintaining security compliance, and processing of unclassified or sensitive information.

    Occasional travel - Occasional non-emergency travel may be required. Travel requirement is 10%.
