As an Aircraft Loadmaster (instructor), GS-2185-08/09, you will administer, schedule, and conduct flight and ground training which develops, upgrades, and evaluates the skills of loadmaster aircrew members; to perform aircrew duties as instructor
loadmaster in the unit type aircraft and to perform related staff support duties; to train crewmembers in these duties.
Military Grades: Enlisted Only
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in functions such as preparing aircraft loading plans, loading and offloading aircraft, operating loading equipment, and ensuring security of cargo in flight.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS 08: Must be currently qualified as Basic Loadmaster in MDS
Knowledge in the use of equipment, systems on LC-130H / C-130H aircraft required for Polar / worldwide missions. Position requires a thorough knowledge of the theory of restraint and capability to apply to a wide variety of non-standard situations. Position requires an expert knowledge of the types, capacities, and configuration of transport aircraft; airdrop techniques; weight and balance factors; mathematics (algebra, geometry, and calculus). Position requires an expert knowledge of U.S. and international rules for hazardous cargo transport; emergency equipment and oxygen; communications; current flying directives; interpretation of diagrams, loading plans, and applicable technical publications; border agency clearance requirements and forms; cargo restraint techniques, principles of preserving and dispensing food aboard aircraft; and an expert knowledge of egress and survival procedures.
GS 09: Must be currently qualified as Instructor Loadmaster in MDS.
