This position is a Temporary Promotion appointment NTE one (1) Year; Position may be extended but not made permanent.
As an Mathematical Statistician you will:
- Serve as the Associate Director for Science for the Division, as well as the senior science advisor to the Division Director, Deputy Director and other senior staff.
- Initiate, monitor and provide oversight of Division research projects and in the application of research to practice.
- Maintain liaisons with external researchers and organizations engaged in research in Division research areas, including statistics, survey methods, data science, confidentiality and privacy, and measurement.
- Represent the Division and the Center in interactions with officials of other Federal agencies, and high-ranking officials of state and local governments, concerning the application of mathematical and statistical theories, techniques, and methods of gathering and/or interpreting quantified information on various scientific and public health issues and programs.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel domestically 5% of the time for this position.
