EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
Positions are located within the Accountable Property and Support Services (APSS) Division of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), Mission Support. These positions support FEMA Headquarters and agency-wide property management programs. In this position, you will plan and direct the execution of essential personal property services throughout FEMA. Typical assignments include:
- Developing and updating policies and procedures necessary to ensure Agency Personal Property records are accurately updated and properly maintained within an automated system, such as Sunflower Asset Management System (SAMS);
- Planning, developing, and preparing requirements, functional specifications, management procedures, guidance, and standards of adequacy for the effective delivery and execution of assigned programs; and
- Reviewing, updating, and creating policies, guidance, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for an Agency property management program.
Occasional travel - Occasional non-emergency travel may be required.
