This position is located in the Office of Public Health at the California Area Office. Incumbent serves as the advisor and coordinator of the Business Office (BO) and Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) Programs, and as a Project Officer. This position is responsible for the BO and PRC activities at the Area Office and providing operational and systems analysis support to Tribal and urban health BO and PRC staff.

Serves as principle advisor to the Area Director, Program Director, Chief Executive Officers, Tribal Health Directors and other Area Program Managers on all matters pertain to BO and PRC program operations. Implement, manage, plan coordinate establish internal controls, strategic planning and direction and to make recommendations to improve the I/T/U third party revenue cycle and PRC program. Identifies revenue objectives and organizational needs and recommends opportunities and solutions for improvement in all aspects of the revenue generation cycle, including patient registration, third party billing and Account Management of Accounts Receivable. Keeps current with the constant changes in program criteria used to determine eligibility for the medical benefits associated with numerous medical insurance policies and explains changes/updates to clinical and administrative staff. Ensures compliance with Indian Health Service (IHS) Third Party Revenue Accounts Management and Internal Controls Policy. Maintains a close working relationship with the Health Information Management Department, Finance Department, Medical Staff, and all other revenue generating departments within the Area for coordinating collections for the Third Party Reimbursement Program.
