    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will function as a key part of a leadership team responsible for coordinating the implementation of continuity plans and programs for internal and external stakeholders. Typical assignments include:

    • Leading team efforts to plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate training and/or exercises of national scope and significance in accordance with current doctrine.
    • Managing assignments of national scope and significance, serving as an expert in the formulation and promulgation of national program guidelines, policies, plans, and procedures for effective implementation of programs.
    • Assessing, inspecting, or evaluating continuity preparedness, managements & warnings, contingency, and security processes, plans, procedures, or guidance for compliance with established laws, regulations, policies, standards, and guidance.
    • Managing components of continuity programs and activities in preparation for a catastrophic emergency, activation, operations, and reconstitution.
