    The Deputy Chief Information Officer for Architecture, Engineering, Technology & Innovation (AET&I) is the lead enterprise engineering architect for the Department leading the advancement of technology integration and enterprise information and data architectures.

    As the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Architecture, Engineering, Technology & Innovation you will:

    • Directs organizational operational activities, frames strategic plans based on broad IM-wide organizational assessments and evaluations of long-term objectives. He/she determines the financial and personnel resources needed to achieve AET&I objectives that best support mission operations; allocates funds and accounts for their use; identifies the need for major organizational improvements and develops the requisite plans and directs implementing actions.
    • Oversees and directs the internal organization, staffing, policies, and personnel authorities required to carry out the responsibilities of the DCIO, including the recruitment of senior managers and technical experts necessary to ensure the success of the programs.
    • Provides leadership for the definition and implementation of strategies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure efficient and cost-effective information resources planning, procurement, and cyber/computer security. The executive supports the Department of Energy corporate Information Management (IM) and Information Technology (IT) architecture.
    • Provides strategic and tactical leadership to staff supporting research, analysis, and the implementation of strategic infrastructure capabilities across the Department's information technology and information management enterprise. Deliverables include Position Papers, Reference Architectures, Evaluation Analysis, Business Case, and Implementation Roadmaps.
    • Provides expert advice, recommendations, and representation in areas of government initiatives, policy analysis, technology assessments, federal policies, and initiatives, as well as industry best practices. Maintains relationships with key personnel and officials from the department, other agencies, and industry relationships to advance effective implementation of tools and practices for the department. Determines the influence of legislation, standards and other conditions that impact modernization and development in particular sectors or groupings of the CIO's customers and stakeholders.
