You will serve as a Program Analyst in support of the Worker Training Program within the Division of Extramural Research and Training. Responsibilities include: management of specialized occupational health training programs; professional liaison for scientific review of these activities; and assesses and evaluates progress.

At the GS 09 your duties will include:

- Review, analyze and evaluate proposed changes in mission, operating procedures and delegations of authority affecting program operations.
At the GS 11 your duties will include:
-Establish study methods and techniques to be utilized in studies and audits.
-Interpret findings resulting from studies that are independently developed.
-Analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals, measures, and objectives.
-Recommend improvements to promote efficiency and cost savings.
-Develop various statistical tables and reports, or new or modified work methods, management processes and procedures for administering program services, guidelines and procedures for program operations.
-Review, monitor, analyze, and evaluate financial, narrative, and statistical reports and program data.

The position is located within the Worker Education and Training Branch (WETB), Division of Extramural Research and Training (DERT), National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). The Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA) authorizes this program of health and safety training and education grants for workers engaged in activities related to hazardous waste removal, containment or hazardous materials emergency response which is administered by NIEHS WETB. WETB supports funding to nonprofits organizations with occupational health and safety experience for training workers who may be involved in these fields as described in SARA above. WETB uses contracts, grants, cooperative agreements and interagency agreements and maintains liaison with appropriate Federal and non-Federal organizations, institutions, scientists, health care providers, educators, and community members.
