    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as an IT Specialist focused on System Analysis in the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA), Risk Management Directorate, IT and Data Management Branch.

    Typical assignments include:

    • IT Systems Engineering and Administration:
      • Providing expert systems engineering and systems administration advice and guidance on broad projects and programs with national impact and State, Tribal, and local government data management and customer service requirements.
    • IT Project Management:
      • Leading multiple concurrent projects using expertise in Agile development and IT project management methods to develop and maintain complex systems and applications. Manage schedule, security, budget, performance, quality, and risks to meet agency needs
      • Developing and review contract statements of work to ensure System Engineering is adequately addressed. Communicate performance expectations for contractors and manage performance.
    • Requirements Analysis and Management:
      • Forecasting and evaluating customer requirements and provide expert technical advice on alternative products and services that meet needs.
