    Summary

    A successful candidate in this position will serve as a Deputy Chief Information Officer who shares the responsibilities of the Associate Administrator for Information Management/Chief Information Officer, including supervision of NA-IM staff and as the alter-ego for the Associate Administrator in his/her absence.

    Responsibilities

    As a Deputy Chief Information Officer, you will

    • Share fully in the responsibilities of the Associate Administrator for Information Management (AAIM/CIO) for management of NA-IM and assume full responsibility for the AAIM/CIO in his/her absence. Share responsibility includes a supervisory role with respect to the entire NA-IM staff and ongoing responsibility for supervision of the 3 Associate CIOs (ACIOs). The direction provided to the 3 ACIOs is administrative and programmatic in nature
    • Provide direction, guidance, oversight, review, and approval on the technical, management and administrative direction of information technology (IT) initiatives, projects, and objectives; evaluate, modify, and make recommendation on contractor design proposals to ensure they are technically feasible in the NNSA environment, meet the intent of the NNSA information management (IM) architecture, and support the CIO and the NNSA strategic plans and other directions; oversee information management performance and governance reviews of the design and architecture of applications during the development process
    • Provide direction to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on the information management and cyber security needs of the organization; identify and resolve complex problems or issues that cross functional boundaries; and recommend and provide training for OCIO personnel
    • Oversee the NNSA-wide cyber security incident reporting and response program in coordination with other Departmental and NNSA offices; maintain an NNSA information assurance response capability; evaluate incident reports for NNSA computer network attack/computer network exploitation situations; ensure the development and coordination of corrective actions plans involving NNSA enterprise systems in response to issues identified by other Federal agencies, peer reviews, and self-assessments
