    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position you will serve as a Management and Program Analyst responsible for leading Data Management initiatives and activities for the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA), Risk Management Directorate (RMD), IT and Data Management Branch. Typical duties include:

    • Serve as a senior expert advisor in a data-intensive program responsible for identifying and integrating internal and external policies, procedures, practices, and systems that affect the utilization of the program’s primary resource data; and
    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established agency goals and objectives for data accessibility and utilization; and
    • Convert theoretical approaches to practical solutions and propose innovative projects for meeting long-range data management objectives; and
    • Manage projects staffed by federal employees and contractors: communicate analytical methods, assignments, problems to be solved, and timelines for completion.
