    Incumbent serves as the primary source for nursing consultation, applying medical and epidemiologic knowledge to overall functioning and oversight of quarantine operations, and provides a critical service to Quarantine and Border Health Services Branch (QB), Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ), federal partners, local and state health departments, health care providers across the United States and the public.

    As a Nurse (Epidemiologist), you will:
    Provide clinical consultation and expertise in nursing, including disease prevention and management.
    Synthesize information and makes public health recommendations to contain and prevent transmission of infectious diseases.
    Collect and analyze data from studies and surveillance projects to evaluate reliability and validity in measuring the effectiveness of programs and strategies.
    Build external contacts, and provides guidance and direction to external partners involved in various aspects of quarantine/border health and bio-terrorism preparedness.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel at least 10% domestically for this position.
