The position is located in the Counterintelligence, Vetting, and Security Unit; Deputy Coordinator for Support; Global Engagement Center (GEC); Office of the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs; Department of State (DoS). The incumbent exercises accountability for ensuring the GEC’s counterintelligence (CI), vetting, and security (CVS) posture is capable of proactively preventing or mitigating foreign actor attempted or actual penetration of GEC activities.Learn more about this agency
- Develops and implements short-term and long-term strategies and resources requirements, leveraging best practices from the private sector and the Intelligence Community; coordinates plans with Diplomatic Security (DS) and other partners.
- Coordinates activities and resolves major problems encountered in program implementation.
- Participates in Department and interagency information-sharing and knowledge management efforts to build/enhance expertise, analytical resources, and tools with U.S. Government partners working to support this CVS mission.
- Manages unit workflow and ensures timely and accurate completion of taskings from the GEC and the Department as well as providing for professional CVS-related development of GEC staff.
Occasional travel - Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
