    This position is located in External Affairs Directorate, Office of Citizenship and Application Information Services, Public Services Division, Contact Center Operations Branch.

    As an IMMIGRATION SERVICES OFFICER you will provide technical and administrative advice to customers in the areas of immigration benefits, local, state laws, international treaties, and other legal references.

    • The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
    • Reviews, evaluates, and facilitates complex problem resolution.
    • Communicating and deciphering complex and highly technical immigration and nationality laws to customers both orally and in writing using plain language to help them navigate the USCIS systems.
    • Handle and analyze customer discrepancies, identify and route calls to appropriate resources and provide follow up with customers when necessary.
    • Utilizes available electronic systems to identify case status, recent updates and any inadequacies to report to Service Center or Field Office Operations.
